In April 2017 Ukraine is welcoming the 14th French Spring Festival, organized by the Embassy of France in Ukraine, the French Institute in Ukraine and “Alliance Française” network in order to popularize French culture in Ukraine and strengthen inter-cultural cooperation. This year the festival will take place in 9 cities of Ukraine from 1st till 29th of April!
In Kiev it will open at 8:30 p.m. on the 1st of April on Sofiivska Square with amazing acrobatic show “Galileo” whereas closing of festival will take place on 29th of April near the People’s Friendship Arch with street show “Unusual Transport”, being a modern interpretation of world-known fairy tale “the Beauty and the Beast”. Throughout April as part of French Spring Festival, both locals and Kiev tourists will have a great opportunity to visit numerous concerts, performances, exhibitions and French film festivals!

The Ukrainian pysanky festival gathers the outstanding painters and amateurs who will dye Easter eggs in size from 5 cm. to 2 m. The program includes All-Ukrainian collection of eggs consisting of 374 authorial pysankas (Sofiivska Square); zone of children’s entertainment (Volodymyrskyi Passage); a lounge area, a zone of master classes, art and hand-made fairs (Saint Volodymyr Hill Park).

Charity Easter Fair

Charity Easter Fair will represent a wide range of festive goods produced by food industry enterprises, cultural centers, Ukrainian craftsmen, gift stores, and souvenir shops. There is a “charity workshop zone” where everyone interested can join the masterclasses and learn the basics of traditional Ukrainian crafts. The funds received from the sale of products manufactured in “charity workshop zone” will be sent to orphanages.

KARTonFEST is an exhibition-festival of cardboard sculptures and contemporary art where you can see a variety of art objects made entirely from cardboard. Fan Zone Opening
Sofiivska Square
An official opening of one of Eurovision 2017 fan zones will take place on Sofiivska Square in Kiev on April 30. The fan-zone will occupy an area of 200×200 m. covered with a special lawn. Around 10 thousand tulips will be planted around the Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky Monument. On the territory of the fan zone you can find a large 26×16 m. TV screen, various restaurants, and photo zones. On the day of opening you can enjoy the concert сonducted by the Ukrainian showman Serhiy Prytula with the participation of famous Ukrainian artists.

Richard Galliano Quartet
Caribbean Club Concert-Hall (4 S.Petliury Str.)
More than 30 years ago a French jazz accordionist, one of the students of Astor Piazzolla – Richard Galliano decided to prove that the accordion is not old-fashioned and successfully transformed it into the solo jazz instrument alongside the saxophone and trumpet. He created his musical style combining jazz and Mediterranean folklore calling it “new musette”. On April 06 enjoy the concert of Richard Galliano and his quartet in the Caribbean Club Concert-Hall.
